While the term Battle of Alberta is usually reserved for when Edmonton and Calgary face off, the past few seasons, the Mammoth have had their own Battle of Alberta facing off against both Edmonton and Calgary in back to back games. Playing a barn to barn game is tough enough but at least you’re playing [...]
In what could be viewed as a potential playoff match-up, the Colorado Mammoth and Minnesota Swarm closed out the regular season at Xcel Energy Center.  Despite the Swarm really being the only team still with something to play for, (second place in the Western Division and a home playoff game), play for most of the [...]
The Colorado Mammoth beat the Calgary Roughnecks in Denver to clinch a playoff spot on Friday night. The two may meet up in the postseason.
The rivalry between the Calgary Roughnecks and the Colorado Mammoth is long-standing with much of it stemming from playoff battles. This year might not be any different.
Heading into Friday night, both the Colorado Mammoth and the Edmonton Rush had a lot riding on the line. Although the Rush have a slightly better record than the Mammoth, both teams are fighting for fourth place and the final spot in the playoffs. The Mammoth offense has continued to struggle all season despite (or [...]
Although we’re all fans of lacrosse, I think in general, players and those involved on the business side tend to forget what it’s like to be a fan. Fans feel a sense of ownership and even protectiveness over their teams and players, even if it’s completely irrational.
The Mammoth offense needs to get over themselves. I don’t care who you are, where you’ve played, what accolades you’ve received or what trophies you’ve won. If you’re not scoring, there are issues. If you can’t play hard for four quarters, or play as a team, or actually play intelligently, then sit your ass down.
One would think that if your defense can put the kibosh on your opponent’s leading scorers, you stand a pretty good chance of winning. Unfortunately, once again, the Mammoth offense didn’t do their part.
Despite a very busy schedule and recently moving to Colorado, John Grant Jr gave me some of his time the week before the Colorado Mammoth played the Philadelphia Wings for a second time in a week. As many lacrosse fans know, he holds several records and awards across several lacrosse leagues. I was really glad [...]
This Mammoth team is talented but they just can’t seem to win. They’re not giving up, but they’re also not going in for the kill. They continue to struggle to play four solid quarters and it shows in their record. Every game so far this season has been decided by one goal. Every game so far has been within their reach, but they just couldn’t close the door.
