For the first time in 13 years (when they were stunned by Elway, TD, and the rest of the Broncos crew) the Green Bay Packers advanced to the Super Bowl…and Jay Cutler will always suck.
And either by the punishing Green Bay defense… or by a coach’s certain doubts… or by his own weak-hearted self… Jay Cutler was defeated on Sunday afternoon at the worst possible time.
For the last three years, the Georgia Dome has been Matt Ryan’s House.
In the divisional playoff between the Falcons and Packers, it became Mr. Rodgers’ Neighborhood.
Tim Tebow provided a spark for the Broncos in his first NFL start, running 40 yards for a touchdown on a 3rd-and-24 and hitting Brandon Lloyd on a 33-yard TD pass in the 1st quarter. Tebow was solid in his debut. The Bronco defense, however, is about as solid as the marshmallows in your cup of hot chocolate.
The end was mercifully quick… for Broncos Nation and for Josh McDaniels. How could an era that began with such promise and fanfare go down in flames so fast?
All things being equal, it is difficult to decipher the tendencies of McDaniels and Xanders after their free-wheeling, pick-trading 2009 Draft odyssey. If the stars aligned perfectly, the Broncos could spend the first two picks setting the middle of their defense & offense with Rolando McClain & Maurkice Pouncey respectively.
Tim listens well, learns well, and stays out of off-field trouble. He is the ideal student for a coach looking to bark orders and take no lip. And yet, no matter how hard McDaniels pushes, Tebow will forever remain… the unflappable Tim Tebow.
Marshall needs to go, and that’s why the Broncos placed a 1st round tender on him instead of the 1st & 3rd round tender they placed on DE Elvis Dumervil. With the 1st round tender Marshall is marketable, and Seattle would seem a perfect fit.
