Aaron Rodgers will never break Brett Favre’s passing records or challenge his consecutive starts streak, and will certainly never erase him from the memory of the Packer faithful. But he doesn’t need to.
The Steelers and Packers ranked #1 & #2 in the NFL respectively in points allowed in 2011 (Pittsburgh 232, Green Bay 240). This is the first time in 28 years that the top two scoring defenses in the league have met in the Super Bowl.
And either by the punishing Green Bay defense… or by a coach’s certain doubts… or by his own weak-hearted self… Jay Cutler was defeated on Sunday afternoon at the worst possible time.
For the last three years, the Georgia Dome has been Matt Ryan’s House.
In the divisional playoff between the Falcons and Packers, it became Mr. Rodgers’ Neighborhood.

At halftime the Broncos trailed 17-0 and appeared to be destined for another loss. Then Tim Tebow took over. It’s still too early to tell, but Tebow may just be the leader that the Broncos have so desperately lacked.
Tim Tebow will make his first home start for the Broncos, and will probably provide a spark. However, the Broncos’ awful defense will have major problems with the high-powered Texans offense.
That buzzing you hear is the gnat-like workings of an overbearing sports media lodged in your brain. The little drones are telling you that Favre has harmed his legacy. That Brett is somehow less because he played more.
Tim Tebow provided a spark for the Broncos in his first NFL start, running 40 yards for a touchdown on a 3rd-and-24 and hitting Brandon Lloyd on a 33-yard TD pass in the 1st quarter. Tebow was solid in his debut. The Bronco defense, however, is about as solid as the marshmallows in your cup of hot chocolate.
Tim Hightower ran for 148 yards and 2 TD’s, and kicker Jay Feely scored a TD on a fake field goal to lead the Cardinals to their first win in over two months. Is there a rock-bottom for the Broncos?
