Doom is back in the house, at least for now

Elvis Dumervil, perhaps enjoying the theatrics, waited right up until the deadline to sign his restricted free agent tender. Signing the tender today guarantees that Elvis, last year’s NFL sacks leader with 17, will earn just over $3million this year, as opposed to the paltry $630,000 he would have made had he not signed his tender. Clearly, Dumervil doesn’t intend to make this amount for very long, but signing the tender shows that he’s still interested in negotiating with the Broncos.
Dumervil is poised to make what some estimates are putting at $40million + in guaranteed money as one of the top pass rushers in the league, a hefty raise compared to the combined $2million he’s made in the first four years of his NFL career.

In the immortal words of Teddy KGB: PAY THE MAN HIS MONEY! Whatever he asks, Broncos, just pay it. Show him the money. Seriously. Can I be any clearer? HE DESERVES TO GET PAID, SON.
