The Colorado Rockies’ freshly re-signed closer (3-year, $22.5 million) got the good news Friday morning.  A Wednesday MRI on his sore, tight throwing shoulder revealed no structural damage.
“It’s as good a news as we could’ve hoped for,†said Street.
Despite the encouraging results, Street will still sit out the remainder of spring training.  Huston is also expected to begin the regular season on the disabled list.  The Rockies open in Milwaukee April 5th – 7th.
Street has pitched in a limited capacity since the first full-squad workouts of spring on February 26th. Huston developed tightness after throwing batting practice that day. Colorado ordered the MRI after Street threw in a simulated game on Monday and had recurring tightness in the shoulder on Tuesday.
