Meet Dr. Jumper and Mr. Drive, the two halves of the Denver whole.

Mr. Drive is that physical, dominating fellow with the defensive work ethic.  When he takes the court, opposing teams tremble knowing that he’s going to spread their defense with slashing drives dishing to open looks.

When Mr. Drive sets up on defense, he knows his responsibilities, moving around screens and blocking out in the paint.  He takes care of the ball, limiting turnovers and mistakes.

Above all, he makes his free throws.  Why?  Because they’re the easiest way to score in the NBA, and when you’re driving to the basket you end up drawing fouls.

Dr. Jumper is the scruffy, lackadaisical guy that spends his time stationary or slowly moving between zones.  He like jump-shots because the don’t require focus or dedication to a play, and is often found watching rebounds bounce majestically into the hands of opposing players.

Dr. Jumper dribbles carelessly in traffic, misses free-throws, and takes contested threes every other possession.  Above all, he loses basketball games against bad teams, and fails to get up for big games on the road.
