My ProSportsColorado Wish List
Here's a few things that would make life better for the Denver sports fan this year
Hopefully, your Christmas morning was filled with joy, and family, and everything you wished for under the tree. Mine has been great so far – U2 tickets makes a guy pretty happy. But it got me thinking – what’s on the wish list for the Colorado sports fan? I’m not talking the obvious (Stanley Cup, Lombardi Trophy, etc)… looking for real at the state of sports around here, what are some things we should have asked Ol’ St. Nick for? Here’s my list, in no particular order:
1. Soap on a Rope. For Josh McDaniels’ mouth.
2. Prescription Glasses. For Knowshon Moreno, maybe he’ll be able to see the hole and then run through it.
3. The best possible medical care for Chauncey Billups. (Come back,, buddy, we miss you!)
4. A real big-boy apartment for Matt Duchene – he’s growing up in the NHL before our eyes. Can’t wait to see what the future brings with this kid.
5. Electric Blanket for Carmelo Anthony. Anything to make sure he doesn’t suddenly cool off on us.
6. A decent starter to join the Rockies rotation. Nothing witty about this one, it’s just something we won’t go too far in 2010 without.
7. A checkbook for Dan O’Dowd, blank checks pre-signed and ready to spend from the Monforts. (I know, a guy can dream, can’t he?)
8. A big fat fruit basket for every team that passed on Ty Lawson in the NBA draft. Thanks guys… you’re almost as precious to us as Joe Dumars after the Darko draft and AI trade…
9. A t-shirt cannon for Kyle Orton. Oh yeah, and an evil genius to cybernetically remove his right arm and replace it with said cannon.
10. Ah heck, I’ll just say it – I really really really really really RE-HEE-HEE-HEELY want to see October baseball again in 2010.
What do you wish for? Whatever it is, leave it in the comments so we can all enjoy… and no matter what you’re celebrating today, I hope your day is filled with joy, peace, and a Nuggets win against the Blazers tonight.

For starters… ditto x 10
Some additions:
Some Courage for Kyle Orton (I can’t watch him stand in the pocket staring at the same receiver for a full five-count wondering if he should throw the ball… I just can’t… not even one more time)
A Brain for each Avs Defender (Especially Ryan Wilson and John Michael Liles. They’re both so big and fast and talented. Great shooters for a couple of young D-men. But it’s like the second coming of Karlis Skrastins; clearing the puck to the front of their own net, pinching down before zone control is established, missing defensive switches that even our rookie forwards are catching… this list goes on…)
And a Heart apiece for George Karl and Josh McDaniels (They’re just kids, George, tell them if they play strong defense they can run whatever shoolyard offense they want. And Josh, you’re just the kind of fiery coach this football town has always secretly craved. Basically John Gruden but less uggo. I love it. But you need to balance the crazy, curse-laden ranting with a little more of that hugging and high-fives we saw earlier in the season. You made Brandon Marshall cry tears of joy. If you do it again, we make the playoffs. Nuff said.)
